Flower Pressing at Goodnestone Park, 6th May
Flower Pressing at Goodnestone Park, 6th May
Date: Wednesday 6th May 2026
Time: 10:00am - 4:00pm
Where: Goodnestone Park Gardens
Join us at The Coach House, Goodnestone Park for a one-day flower pressing workshop. We will start the day with a personal tour of the walled garden for inspiration before delving into a comprehensive hands-on workshop.
We will bring along buckets full of beautiful English flowers from local suppliers for you, and will teach you all the techniques and processes you need to ensure satisfying results from your press - how to select and prepare your specimens as well as maintaining them throughout the drying process, along with all the tips and tricks we've learnt over the years.
Working with flowers we have pressed for you in advance, you will come away from this pressed flower course having mastered techniques for mounting artworks using a variety of handmade papers and materials - all yours to take home to further your pursuits in the art of flower pressing.
Once regularly visited by Jane Austen, Goodnestone Park, set within 15 acres of gardens, carries a gentle, historic charm that makes it an ideal setting.
The workshop is open to all, no experience needed, but it would also suit those who do have some experience and would like to broaden their knowledge. The workshop includes tea, coffee, garden entry, a delicious seasonal lunch at the Old Dairy Café and a personal tour of the walled garden. There is free onsite parking, with access requirements welcomed—contact us to discuss.
Ticket Includes:
- Tea, coffee, lunch and garden entry.
- Beautiful seasonal English flowers for pressing.
- Your own flower press which you will fill with flowers and take home (27.5 x 17.5cm)
- Pressed flowers for making artworks.
