Next up in our Christmas interview series is the fabulous Sam McKnight. Sam is, without doubt, fashion's favourite hair stylist. In the days of the Supermodels, Sam gained a reputation for the amazing "do's" he did for Linda, Christie, Naomi et al. Then, in 1990, he boldly chopped Princess Diana's hair into a sharp geometric cut and her iconic look was born. When asked what was the pivotal moment she moved from victim to victor, Diana replied: "it was when Sam cut my hair".
We are endlessly inspired by Sam's instagram posts of his gorgeous flower filled garden. His exquisite taste permeates everything he does and his long, successful career owes everything to him being such a nice and grounded human being – not to mention the most Christmassy person we know (his Christmas tree is legendary).
How will you be bringing nature indoors this Christmas?
I always love to start the festive season with my JamJar wreath. It’s the first Christmas decoration I do always. I love to have a few of the darker amaryllis in pots around the house. I’m quite fortunate, the back of my home is glass, so I really feel that I’m in the garden all year round. To brighten it up a few years ago I added loads of lights outside through the trees, and it just brings me so much joy in the dark mornings and nights.

JamJar wreaths will be for sale at Open Studios, 5th - 7th December.
What is your favourite part of Christmas Day?
Eating leftovers at the end of the day! Really my favourite part is listening to Juniors Choice on Radio 2 on Christmas morning.
What is the best Christmas present you’ve ever been given?
I have been collecting Christmas baubles for years, and every once in a while someone gives me a really special one that I get to cherish and pop on my tree every year.

If hosting a party at your beautiful home, how do you make it feel fun and festive?
A great big whopping Christmas tree, lights in the garden, a great disco playlist for dancing and I do love Peggy Lee’s Christmas album.

If you could choose just one thing from the JamJar Edit collection, what would it be and why?
I love JamJar's pressings and prints, I particularly have my eye on the Rose-scented Geranium pressed artwork.
